A Simple Reason Why The Qur’an Cannot Be The Word of God

Qur'anThe Islamic religion claims that the Qur’an, revealed allegedly by the angel Gabriel to the prophet Muhammad beginning in 610 A.D., is the inspired and inerrant word of God. Such an assertion, however, is highly problematic, and many, many arguments could be given to convincingly refute it. In this article, I am going to offer one of those reasons, which I perceive to be the most damning. In future articles, we will consider some other serious difficulties with the idea that the Qur’an represents the revealed words of God. My argument here can be summarized in syllogistic form as follows:

Premise 1: Either the Bible is the Word of God or it is not.

Premise 2: If the Bible is the Word of God, the Qur’an is not.

Premise 3: If the Bible is not the Word of God, the Qur’an is not.

Conclusion: Therefore, the Qur’an is not the Word of God.

First, a note of qualification. By “the Bible” I refer to the Old and New Testaments as we possess them today and as possessed by Christians at the time of Muhammad in the seventh century. Granted, there are textual variants in the New Testament Greek manuscripts, but the core message of the New Testament remains the same — they are thus immaterial to what I’m attempting to establish here.

Premise 1 need not be defended, since it is self-evident that the two alternatives are mutually exclusive and exhaustive possibilities. Premise 2 is easy to establish, since the Qur’an and the Bible fundamentally contradict one another. The most obvious item of conflict relates to whether Jesus died by crucifixion, denied by the Qur’an (Surah An-Nisa 157-158) but affirmed throughout the New Testament and indeed a cornerstone of New Testament theology. The Qur’an also repeatedly denies the core Biblical concept that Christ is the incarnate eternal Son of God, affirming instead that He is only a messenger or prophet (e.g. Surah Al-Maeda 75). The Qur’an, on multiple occasions, denies the Trinity (e.g. Surah An-Nisa 171; Surah Al-Maeda 73). The Qur’an, of course, repeatedly misrepresents Christian theology on these matters, as I discuss here, but this is immaterial to the issues that concern us here. If, then, the Christian Scriptures are indeed the inspired Word of God, the Muslim Scriptures cannot be, since the Qur’an so fundamentally disagrees with the theology of the Bible.

The Qur’an’s Affirmation of the Christian and Jewish Scriptures

For the Muslim to reject the conclusion of the argument, at least one of the three Premises must also be rejected. As I have shown, Premises 1 and 2 cannot be reasonably denied. What, then, of Premise 3? The Qur’an, over and over again, affirms the Christian Scriptures, claiming consistency with them, and asserting that the Torah and the Gospel (the “Injil”), and also the Psalms, are previous revelations from Allah. Consider, for example, the following verses.

  • Surah Al-E-Imran 3: “He has revealed to you the Book with the truth [i.e. the Qur’an], confirming what has been before it, and has sent down the Torah and the Injil.”
  • Surah An-Nisa 136: “O you who believe, do believe in Allah and His Messenger and in the Book He has revealed to His Messenger and in the Books He has revealed earlier. Whoever disbelieves in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers and the Last Day has indeed gone far astray.”
  • Surah An-Nisa 163: “Surely, We have revealed to you [i.e. Muhammad] as We have revealed to Nuh and to the prophets after him; and We have revealed to Ibrahim, Isma’il, Ishaq, Ya’qub and their children, and to Isa, Ayyub, Yunus, Harun, and Salaiman, and We have given Zabur [i.e. the psalms] to Dawud.”
  • Surah Al-Isra: “Your Lord knows best about all those in the heavens and the earth, and We have certainly granted excellence to some prophets over some others, and We gave Dawud the Zabur (the Psalms). Say, “Call those who you assume (to be gods), besides Him, while they have no power to remove distress from you, nor to change it.”“
  • Surah Al-Anbiya: “And We have written in Zabur (Psalms) after the advice that the land will be inherited by My righteous slaves.”

The Qur’an even goes so far as to assert that the prophet Muhammad is prophesied in both the Old and New Testaments. Consider the following verses.

  • Surah Al-Araf 157: “Those who follow the Messenger, the Ummiyy (unlettered) prophet whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Injil and who bids the what is fair and forbids what is unfair, and makes lawful for the good things, and makes unlawful for the impure things, and relieves them of their burden, and of the shackles that were upon them. So, those who believe in him and support him, and help him and follow the light sent down with him, those are the ones who are successful.”
  • Surah As-Saff 6: Remember when Isa, son of Maryam, said, “O children of Isra’il, I am a messenger of Allah sent towards you, confirming the Torah that is (sent down) before me, and giving you the good news of a messenger who will come after me, whose name will be Ahmad.” But when he came to them with manifest signs, they said, “This is a clear magic.”

One will search in vain, however, to find any mention of Muhammad in any Biblical text. This has left Muslim apologists doing hermeneutic gymnastics to inject Muhammad somewhere into the Bible. All such attempts, however, have proven futile. One such attempt is the claim that the coming prophet like Moses, spoken of in Deuteronomy 18:15-19, is, in fact, Muhammad. Here’s the full text:

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ And the Lord said to me, ‘They are right in what they have spoken. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

This argument, like the rest, is fraught with problems. The most damning of those is the context, which limits the word “brothers” of verse 15 and 18 to the Israelites. Verses 1-2 of Deuteronomy 18 clearly reveal who “brothers” refers to:

The Levitical priests, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the Lord’s food offerings as their inheritance. They shall have no inheritance among their brothers; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them.

Here, “brothers” can only refer to the Israelites. Since the prophet of verses 15-19 is to come from among the “brothers” of the Israelites, Muhammad is excluded as a contender for its fulfillment.

Another favorite is the Advocate or Helper promised by Jesus to the disciples in John 14 and 16. In John 14:15-16, we read the following words of Jesus:

If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

It is extremely difficult to read Muhammad into this text, since the promised Helper is said to be with Jesus’ followers forever and in them, something not accomplished by Muhammad. The Muslim interpretation also utterly ignores the overall context of the text. Jesus here is speaking to his disciples. If the promise refers to Muhammad, then it was fulfilled six hundred years later. Thus, everything said by Jesus to the disciples would not be relevant to them.

In John 15:26-27, we read more about this coming Helper:

But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

Was Muhammad sent by Jesus? Does he proceed from the Father? Moreover, the disciples bearing witness is directly linked to the coming of the promised Helper, and thus the fulfillment of this promise must be found in the disciples to whom the promise was made. John 16:7-14 provides yet further difficulties:

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

This text makes it even more clear that the Helper is sent by Jesus and comes to these specific disciples to whom Jesus is speaking. Muhammad did not come for a further six centuries. We are also told that the Helper will glorify Jesus. Muhammad certainly did not glorify Jesus.

One could proceed to go through all of the passages that Muslims typically cite as alleged prophecies concerning Muhammad. None of them, however, fare any better than these. Indeed, the two I have addressed above are the most often cited texts — the favorites of Muslim apologists.

Confronted with this obvious Qur’anic error about the contents of the Christian Scriptures, Muslim apologists will often attempt to argue that the Christian Scriptures have been corrupted, or that the “Injil” (the Gospel) refers to a special book given only to Jesus (whom the Qur’an calls “Isa”) which has left no record in history. As we shall see, however, neither the historical record, nor the Qur’an, allows for that possibility.

Has the Message of the Injil and Torah Been Corrupted or Lost?

Muslims cannot consistently maintain that the Scriptures delivered previously have been corrupted or lost, since the Qur’an appears to assume that these Scriptures are still with the “people of the book” (Christians and Jews). The case here is strong and the implications difficult to escape. Let’s take a look at some of these texts in the order that they appear in the Qur’an.

  • Surah Al-Baqara 91: “When it is said to them, “Believe in what Allah has revealed,” they say, “We believe in what has been revealed to us” — and they deny what is beyond it, whereas that is the truth which confirms what is with them. Say, “Why then have you been slaying the prophets of Allah earlier, if you were believers?””

This verse contends that the Scriptures previously revealed by Allah (i.e. the Torah and Injil) are “with them” (i.e. the people of the Book) at the time of the writing revealing of the Qur’an in the seventh century. If the Jews and Christians that the Qur’an is addressing didn’t have access to these Scriptures, the verse makes no sense. Here is another example which further illustrates this point:

  • Surah Al-E-Imran 70: “O people of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you are yourselves witnesses (to those verses)?”

Again, Christians and Jews are witnesses to the verses revealed in the previous Scriptures. The “you” of this verse clearly refers to the Christians and Jews of Muhammad’s day. Here’s another example from the same chapter:

  • Surah Al-E-Imran 199: “Surely, among the people of the Book there are those who believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to you and what has been sent to them, humbling themselves before Allah. They do not barter away the verses of Allah for paltry (worldly) gains. They have their reward with their Lord. Surely, Allah is swift at reckoning.”

Notice in the above verse the use of the plural personal pronoun “them”. The revelation from Allah was apparently sent not only to Jesus but to them (meaning, the people of the Book). Why, then, do Muslims frequently claim that the Injil was revealed only to Jesus?

Perhaps the most frequently cited verse in connection with this topic is the following text from the fifth chapter of the Qur’an:

  • Surah Al-Maeda 43-49: “How do they [i.e. the Jews] ask you to judge while the Torah is with them, having the ruling of Allah? Still, they turn away, after all that. They are no believers. Surely We have sent down the Torah, in which there was guidance and light by which the prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah, used to judge for the Jews, and (so did) the Men of Allah and the Men of knowledge, because they were ordained to protect the Book of Allah, and they stood guard over it. So, (O Jews of today,) do not fear people. Fear me, and do not take a paltry price for My verses. Those who do not judge according to what Allah has sent down are disbelievers. We prescribed for them therein: A life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear and a tooth for a tooth; and for wounds, an equal retaliation Then, if one forgives it, that will be expiation for him. Those who do not judge according to what Allah has sent down, they are the unjust. We sent Isa son of Maryam after those prophets, confirming the Torah that was (revealed) before him, and We gave him the Injil having guidance and light therein, and confirming the Torah that was (revealed) before it; a guidance and a lesson for the God-fearing. And the people of the Injil must judge according to what Allah has sent down therein. Those who do not judge according to what Allah has sent down, they are the sinners. We have sent down to you the Book with truth, confirming the Book before it, and a protector for it. So, judge between the according to what Allah has sent down, and do not follow their desires against the truth that has come to you. For each of you We have made a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made a single community of people, but (He did not), so that He may test you in what He has given to you. Strive, then to excel each other in good deeds. To Allah is the return for all of you. Then Allah shall tell you about that in which you disputed. We order you to judge between the according to what Allah has sent down. Do not follow their desires, and beware of them, lest they should turn away from some of what Allah has sent down to you. If they turn away, be assured that Allah intends to make the suffer for some of their sins. Surely, many of the people are sinners.”

How can Christians and Jews judge by what has been revealed in the Torah and Injil if they do not have access to those Scriptures? Again, the text assumes that the “people of the book” have access to the previously-revealed Scriptures. We go on:

  • Surah Al-Maeda 68: “Say, “O people of the Book, you have nothing to stand on, unless you uphold the Torah and the Injil and what has been sent down to you from your Lord.” What has been sent down to you from your Lord will certainly make many of the most persistent in rebellion and disbelief. So, do not grieve over the disbelieving people.”

Not only does this text command the “people of the Book” to uphold the Torah and the Injil (which they must have in their possession for the command to make sense), but they are told of the Scriptures that were previously “sent down to you“. Who does “you” refer to? In context, it can only refer to the people of the Book. This is difficult to square with the popular Islamic notion that the Injil was revealed only to Jesus and was quickly lost without leaving any trace in history. Again, this text assumes that the “people of the book” possess the Torah and the Injil and that they have been neither corrupted nor lost.

As if those weren’t enough, here’s one final example:

  • Surah Yunus 94: “So, (O prophet,) even if you are in doubt about what We have sent down to you, ask those who read the Book (revealed) before you. Surely, truth has come to you from your Lord, so never be among those who are suspicious.”

This text again makes no sense unless the Christians and Jews have access to the Books revealed before Muhammad. The Muslim contention that the Christian and Jewish Scriptures have been corrupted beyond recognition is simply without support from the Qur’an.

Was Jesus A Successful Preacher of Islam According to the Qur’an?

Muslims typically maintain that Jesus preached Islam, but was apparently not very successful in winning converts, because His message became quickly corrupted. Such a notion, however, is contrary to the text of the Qur’an.  Let’s take a look at some more verses:

  • Surah Al-E-Imran 50-52: “I [Jesus] have come to you confirming that (book) which is (sent down) prior to me, that is, the Torah, and to are permissible for you some of what was prohibited to you. I have come to you with a sign fro your Lord So, fear Allah and obey me. Allah is surely my Lord and your Lord. So, worship Him. This is the straight path So, when Isa sensed disbelief in them, he said: “Who are my helpers in the way of Allah?” The disciples said: “We are helpers of Allah We believe in Allah; so be our witness that we are Muslims.”“

According to this text, Jesus was at least somewhat successful as a preacher of Islam and his own disciples themselves, at least some of whom — Peter, Matthew, John — are contributors to the New Testament. If these disciples were Muslims, why is their theology so strongly at odds with the Qur’an?

  • Surah Al-E-Imran 55: “When Allah said: “O Isa, I am to take you in full and to raise you towards myself, and to cleanse you of those who disbelieve, and to place those who follow you above those you disbelieve up to the Day of Doom. Then to Me is your return, whereupon I shall judge between you in that over which you have differed.”

In the above text, Allah promises Jesus that He will place those who follow him “above those who disbelieve up to the Day of Doom”. If barely anyone was a true follower of Jesus (i.e. a Muslim), then this text cannot be understood.

  • Surah Al-Maeda 110-111: “Call to mind the time when Allah will say “O Isa, son of Maryam, remember my blessing upon you and upon your mother; when I supported you with the Holy Spirit. You spoke to people while you were still in the cradle and when you grew to middle age. I taught you the Book and the Wisdom, the Torah and  the Injil. You created from clay something in the shape of a bird, when you blew on it, and it became a bird by My leave. I kept the children of Isra’il away from you when you came to them with clear signs, and the disbelievers among them said, ”This is a clear magic.”  When I enjoined upon the disciples (of Jesus), “Believe in Me and in My Messenger,” they said, “We believed. Bear witness that we are the submitting ones.”“

This text again attests that the disciples of Jesus were Muslims. Interestingly, the story recounted in the above passage does not appear anywhere in the Bible, but can be traced to the Arabic infancy Gospel (dated to the sixth century) which Muhammad would have had access to. Indeed, I would argue that there is a strong case to be made for literary dependence on this apocryphal book.  Here is the relevant text from the Arabic infancy Gospel 36:

Now, when the Lord Jesus had completed seven years from His birth, on a certain day He was occupied with boys of His own age. For they were playing among clay, from which they were making images of asses, oxen, birds, and other animals; and each one boasting of his skill, was praising his own work. Then the Lord Jesus said to the boys: The images that I have made I will order to walk. The boys asked Him whether then he were the son of the Creator; and the Lord Jesus bade them walk. And they immediately began to leap; and then, when He had given them leave, they again stood still. And He had made figures of birds and sparrows, which flew when He told them to fly, and stood still when He told them to stand, and ate and drank when He handed them food and drink. After the boys had gone away and told this to their parents, their fathers said to them: My sons, take care not to keep company with him again, for he is a wizard: flee from him, therefore, and avoid him, and do not play with him again after this.

Notice in particular how this passage ends. Jesus is accused of being a “wizard”. The Qur’an states that “the disbelievers among them said, ”This is a clear magic.”” It seems probable that this source is where the author of the Qur’an is drawing from on this point.

We go on:

  • Surah Ash-Shura 13-14: “He has ordained for you people the same religion as He has enjoined upon Nuh, and that which We have revealed to you (O prophet) and that which We had enjoined upon Ibrahim and Musa and Isa by saying, “Establish the religion, and be not divided therein.” Arduous for the mushriks (polytheists) is that to which you are inviting them. Allah chooses (and pulls) toward Himself anyone He wills, and guides to Himself anyone who turns to Him (to seek guidance). And they were not divided, in jealousy with each other, but after the knowledge had come to them. Had it not been for a word that had come forth earlier from your Lord (and was effective) until a specified time, the matter would have been decided between them. And those who were made to inherit the Book after them are in confounding doubt about it.”

Who are “those who were made to inherit the Book after them”? Isn’t this referring to those who inherited the books of Abraham and Moses and Jesus (the three prophets listed in the above text)?

  • Surah As-Saff 14: “O you who believe, be supporters of (the religion of) Allah, just as Isa, son of Maryam, said to the Disciples, “Who are my supporters towards Allah?” The Disciples said, “We are the supporters of (the religion of) Allah.” So a group from the children of Isra’il believed, and another group disbelieved. Then we supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became victors.”

This text implies that a group from among the Jews believed the Islamic teachings of Jesus. Why, then, did they leave no trace in history? The final sentence (“Then we supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became victors”) is typically interpreted by commentators as being in reference to Christianity becoming the religion of the Roman empire in the fourth century A.D. If this is the case, why does the Christian religion that gained victory over the Roman empire look so different from Islam? The Christianity that became the dominant religion in the Roman empire maintained the deity of Christ and his death by crucifixion, two propositions expressly denied by the Qur’an.

Can Anyone Change Allah’s Words?

The Qur’an states plainly on several occasions that no one can alter or change the words of Allah and that Allah preserves and protects His words. Here’s what the Qur’an says:

  • Surah Al-Anaam 34: “Indeed, many messengers have been rejected before you [i.e. Muhammad], but they stood patient against their rejection, and they were persecuted until Our help came to them. No one can change the words of Allah, and of course, some accounts of the Messengers have already come to you.”
  • Surah Al-Anaam 115: “The Word of Your Lord is perfect in truth and justice. None is there to change His words, and He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”
  • Surah Al-Hijr 9: “We, Ourselves, have sent down the Dhikr (the Qur’an), and We are there to protect it.
  • Surah Al-Kahf 27: “And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no one to change His words, and you will never find a refuge beside Him.”

Muslims are frequently telling us about the miraculous textual preservation of the Qur’an. As an aside, the notion that the text of the Qur’an as we possess it today perfectly resembles the Qur’an of the seventh century is demonstrably untrue — but that’s a subject for another day. My question for Muslims is thus: If Allah was able to perfectly preserve the text of the Qur’an, why wasn’t he able to do the same with the Bible? Do the above verses not apply equally to the previous revelations of Allah?

What Does The Historical Record Say About Biblical Textual Preservation?

As far as ancient texts go, the New Testament is the best attested of antiquity, based on the sheer volume of manuscripts (between 5 and 6 thousand Greek manuscripts) and the earliness of those manuscripts. Moreover, the earliest manuscripts we have demonstrate the existence not of a single line of corrupt transmission, but multiple lines of transmission with varying levels of accuracy. Multiple lines of transmission defy the possibility of being under the control of any central editing process. The burden of proof lies with the skeptic who asserts corruption of the primitive New Testament texts since the extant manuscripts show multiple lines of independent transmission. In any case, even if no New Testament manuscripts were preserved, we would still be able to construct the vast majority of the New Testament from quotations by early church fathers.

Conclusion

To conclude, the argument developed above represents a formidable challenge to the Islamic religion, and I challenge any Muslim to show me where I have erred. In order to maintain his Islamic faith, a Muslim must reject one or more of the Premises of the syllogism given at the start of this article. If he cannot do so, the conclusion follows necessarily and inescapably.

God has said (through Jesus) we need to receive the grace of God through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross; and possibly the more often a person rejects this message, and causes others to, the more condemnation he (or she) receives. According to Romans 2:12, you are judged by the Law (the Bible) if you’ve heard it, and by your own conscience if you have not yet heard it. HOWEVER, Christ will judge all secrets of the hearts of men (2:16). How then shall we avoid God’s righteous wrath without the Blood of Christ for a cover?

Oooooo my brother, you still have a long way to go. Clearly there is alot to read and understand. The writer of this argument and its followers have created a point of undrstanding and we all deserve to learn fom it. Just be fair, open minded and you will see where the common sence was rightly positioned. what i can say is that God/Allan in His Ones-ness will judge all creation regardless and every one will pay his price according to the laws, either from christian books or the quran. What is clear is that the law exists irrespective of when it was revealed and to who in particular.

Yes Muslims will go to Hell.
Can any person (all are sinners in God’s eyes – Romans 3:23) ever do anything good enough to please a holy and righteous God? The answer is no.
Since God must punish the sinner for offending Him (the wages of sin is death – Romans 6:23) and our works are of no merit, then how are we going to escape so great a righteous judgment?
The only way to escape the righteous judgment of God is to trust in the provision He has made. This provision is found in His son, Jesus. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life,” Jesus’ sacrifice is the only provision acceptable to God the Father.
If anybody does not believe this – Muslims included – they are going to hell. That is what the Bible teaches.

No not all muslims go to hell. Not all Christians go to heaven either. It is not the fault of muslim children if they are indoctrinated into the religion of their parents. If they refuse the hate and killing which is a command against the infidels, then they are ok. Christian children who learn another message but also are capable of not believing it or do not want to follow it. This is the free choice we have.

Can we Prove Quran is From God?

Muslims have something that offers the clearest proof of all – The Holy Quran. There is no other book like it anywhere on earth. It is absolutely perfect in the Arabic language. It has no mistakes in grammar, meanings or context. The scientific evidences are well known around the entire world, even amongst non-Muslim scholars. Predictions in the Quran have come true; and its teachings are clearly for all people, all places and all times.

Surprisingly enough, the Quran itself provides us with the test of authenticity and offers challenges against itself to prove its veracity. Allah tells us in the Quran:

Haven’t the unbelievers considered if this was from other than Allah, they would find within it many contradictions?
    [Noble Quran 4:82]

Another amazing challenge from Allah’s Book:

If you are in doubt about it, bring a chapter like it.
    [Noble Quran 2:23]

    And Allah challenges us with:

Bring ten chapters like it. [Noble Quran 11:13]

    And finally:

Bring one chapter like it. [Noble Quran 10:38]

No one has been able to produce a book like it, nor ten chapters like it, nor even one chapter like it. It was memorized by thousands of people during the lifetime of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and then this memorization was passed down from teacher to student for generation after generation, from mouth to ear and from one nation to another. Today every single Muslim has memorized some part of the Quran in the original Arabic language that it was revealed in over 1,400 years ago, even though most of them are not Arabs. There are over nine million (9,000,000) Muslims living on the earth today who have totally memorized the entire Quran, word for word, and can recite the entire Quran, in Arabic just as Muhammad (peace be upon him) did 14 centuries ago.

You are a blind believer of Christianity and can’t see the many contradictions, absurdities and immoral teachings in your own religion just like Muslims….. it’s very easy for humans to criticize other people, other religions and other cultures, but so incredibly difficult to criticize your own.religion, your own culture, your own country, favorite political party, ideology or whatever…..

My dear brother, if you firstly doubt if there’s god or not you should first look at your own body. Did u ever thought how u get up everyday and your body runs like a ultimate machine which is capable of doing numerous things.can anyone create a human if the needed thing are provided? Even if we created every thing including heart, kidney and all physical things who will make the heart beat? Who can put the soul into our body? Or is it just a process of nature as u may think ? If so who created nature? As u say every thing is created. So who created it ? Is it god? If so who created the god ? The only answer that I tell u is the god ,He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;(surah ikhlas 112:4)( he doesn’t have parents nor he does have children) . As per Islam guidelines thinking more about the beginning of the god can may lead to the way out of islam. I know it’s hard to believe but u should , that’s the way it is .Even the prophet Moosa (A.S)(Moses) had doubt what the god is doing all the time. There’s a totall of 41must need properties of god which includes 20 must need and 20 mustn’t need and 1 which may or may not have. I advice that u should ask yourselves the question that u have doubt. It is said the the one who knew his body well will know the god.

        • Paul says:

Jesus Christ was the Creator of the Universe, and our savior from his being on the cross for us, died, was buried, and rosed again for us. Which is totally proven in the Bible. Both John:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
and Paul confirmed he Jesus was the godly creator also:
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
          And in Hebrews:
Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
          Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
          Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

And the only salvation that was changed by Jesus, when he ended the covenants until the tribulation time, was given to Paul:
          1Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
          1Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And Koran lies against all that, and then be aware of what Jesus warns of the sorcery of the lies against him…the devil, I.e., the Satan:
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
The father of lies Satan tried to make Jesus worship him in Matthew 4:9. And then Satan also tried to kill the God in Heaven, the father the Son and holy sprit as shown Revelation 12: Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan is on Earth nonstop and seeks to be the God here.
2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
And Ephesians 4:4. And also John: Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
1Jn 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Satan seeks to be God, and then he appears as Allah.

He was know among his trip as the truthful and the trustworthy before he started spreading God’s word. Then he was called many things for spreading the word of God. As mentioned above by a Muslim. Their is no doubt that the bible contains many errors scientific and other unlike the Quran. If you provide me any evidence of scientific fact that contradicts the Quran I will leave this religion. I told my mother in law the same thing and here we are 15 years later and she has not provided anything. Do you think you can say the same about the bible.
The Quran was collected in a book a few years after the death of the prophet and if you go read how it was collected you will be amazed. Unlike the bible, it clearly was collected centuries after Jesus died and by the way the trinity was a foot note in the original scriptors. Go ask if I am lying. If being Christian means following Jesus’s teaching then I can tell you with no doubt that Muslims are more Christian than Christians. Jesus didn’t eat pork or get drink alcohol he prayed to god daily. Who does that now? Christians or Muslims.
Now to the article. Muslims believe in the bible and the Torah that’s the old and new testament we believe that the current bible has been altered and manipulated for political and church reason. If the bible was unaltered you would not have 40 or so denominations and you would not have many different versions
        https://www.google.com/amp/s/theway21stcentury.wordpress.com/2012/11/23/how-many-christian-denominations-worldwide/amp/

So the premise is faulted. I can surely prove to you that the current bible has scientific mistakes and I don’t believe that God makes mistakes he says in the Quran that good is from him and evil is made by your hands.

Surah 18:86 claims that the sun sets in a spring of murky water.

But, the bible says in Ps 19:5-6, “In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
6 Its rising is from one end of heaven,
          And its circuit to the other end;

The arguements are just disappointing since when was disrespecting other religions a form of convincing a person from another religion that they are correct. First of muslim or non muslim we all believe in god and we all believe in a book either being the quran the bible or the taruh and all those books were sent to us through prophets by god almighty’s permission. And if you believe in god and pray to him then you should not disrespect any of the books he sent or prophets! Calling prophets and categorizing them as if they werent sent to share gods message is just completely unacceptable in any religion we are not the ones who judge your only duty as a human being is doing right in this world and following god’s message. As a muslim i believe in the quran and all the books that came before it ex: the bible the taruh) because they where all sent down by gods willingness. I do believe every single word in the quran and not every word in the bible and the reasoning to that is the quran unlike all the books has no type of misinterpretations and falsifications and the proof to that is our quran is only 1 version and the bible has 50 different versions every one of them contradicting the other. The saddest thing is to see all those arguments but no one arguing with proof from the Quran with all do respect but the website you shared could be your words or a young man like you with no education of the quran. The only way to make sure is to read just take your time and read. This life is temporary we all believe in the day of judgement and that all our sins and deeds will be weighed and our final destination is going to be either heaven or hell so thank god you are still alive , able to read and able to make sure you are guided to the straight path.

Your sin separates you from God, and the only one that can deal with the situation is God Himself, which He did by offering His Son as the punishment for sin…my sin, your sin. Muslim Arabic, that is the logical fallacy, “Shotgun argumentation” – it offers such a large number of arguments for a position that we can’t possibly respond to all of them.

What I would ask you is this: there is only a single author Muhammad for the Quran – that means that there is no checks and balances…you either take his word for it, or you don’t. There is no accountability since there is only 1 author. However, with the bible, there are 40 authors, 66 books written over a period of 1500 years in 3 languages on 3 continents from different professions, different walks of life and yet there is harmony – 1 central theme throughout. That God created man with free will and wanted a relationship with man, man rebelled and rejected God, man is separated from God and continues to rebel, God reconciles man to God only by Jesus.

Let’s consider violence and mass killings done by Christians: world war II, the atomic bombs dropped down on japan killing and evaporating 100 of thousands of civilians in seconds, killing over a million people in Iraq in the recent years, the savage treatment and slaughter of black slaves since the beginning of the American history, the savage attacks and killings of the crusades, the current manipulation of other countries and creating chaos in other nations, the shootings and killings done in America on a daily basis(so far total 2,000 shooting this year – this is done by non muslims). I see all religions have been abused and used to justify violence against others. That is the sad part. What the original Americans did to the native Americans speaks very loud! Circular Reasoning (to A Muslim). You start with the premise that the Quran is faultless and use that premise to prove it is faultless.

You mention, “Predictions in the Quran have come true” and yet you provided no predictions. What predictions have come to pass?

You mention, “The scientific evidences are well known around the entire world, even amongst non-Muslim scholars”. What scientific evidences are you speaking of?

You say, “There are over nine million (9,000,000) Muslims living on the earth today who have totally memorized the entire Quran, word for word, and can recite the entire Quran”. This is the logical fallacy Argumentum ad populum. It doesn’t matter how many have memorized it, doesn’t make it true.

And, you didn’t answer any of the questions posed by the article. Namely, the Quran says that the bible was given by allah and yet contradicts the bible in regards to Jesus dying on the cross, the Trinity and that Jesus was only a prophet and not the Son of God. So either the bible is correct or the Quran but not both and since the bible actually does have predictive prophecy and that the leader of Christianity rose from the dead by prima facie Christianity and the bible is to be believed.

Although I am no Quran expert, I certainly know from research (watching scholars like Shabir Ali and others) who debate Islam with Christians that there are problems with believing that the Quran hasn’t been changed…”not one word or one letter” because Prince Phillip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II of England is older than the Quran Muslims use today. The current Quran found in many mosques (obviously not all) was commissioned as the Holy Quran in 1924 . (See http://bible-quran.com/arabic-quran-cairo/ and http://www.answering-islam.org/PQ/ch8-index.html and http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/125312 and http://www.qcc.cuny.edu/SocialSciences/ppecorino/PHIL_of_RELIGION_TEXT/CHAPTER_5_ARGUMENTS_EXPERIENCE/Koran-Origins.htm to give you just a few). Here is a link that explains how there are 26 (actually more) different Arabic Qurans (not English translations) being used throughout Mosques around the world (and many in the UK): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcoMB8nJWmw. Thanks to the Internet, society can learn about Islam using primary sources, too. Before we had to take a person’s word on the subject, but now we can actually look at those sources (translated into nearly every language) and see for ourselves. It is too difficult for anyone to make claims about the Quran without getting to look at those claims and primary sources for ourselves. People might have believed what you wrote above 15-20 years ago, but even Muslims can go look for themselves.

What is scientific about the Qur’an? I don’t particularly think anyone has tried writing something like the Qur’an. And look at the Bible as well. The Bible was written by about 44 authors, a lot of them didn’t know each other personally and yet it tells a single story, with other stories interwoven. And manages not to contradict it’self. Another thing is , Mohammed never claimed to do miracles. While reading the Bible, the major prophets that was conveying a large and important message, such as Moses, Elijah, and Jesus , all did miracles to show that they were sent from God. Like the article shown above, the Qur’an repeatedly affirms the scriptures as the word of God and says that nobody can corrupt the word of God. There are numerous prophecies in the Bible that has been fufilled and some still being fufilled to this day. There’s an ex Muslim who runs a website, can’t remember what it’s called, who debates Muslim teachers because he found within the Qur’an many contradictions.

As an ex-Muslim, I’m convinced that both the Bible and the Qur’an are the words of men, not the Creator of the universe. This is where the evidence has finally led me. Both books contain not only many immoral teachings, but there are numerous inconsistencies and claims about the universe that very obviously conflict with modern science. The origins of these religions are rooted in Sumerian theology, as well as other ancient religions, mythologies and cultures.

Even if there were no absurdities, irrational and immoral teachings in the Qur’an, I would still reject it as the word of God. Why? Because of the ludicrous concept of eternal Hellfire by the “Merciful God”. According to the Qur’an, Allah will only accept Islam as the true religion and all non-Muslims will burn in an eternal Hellfire, regardless of how many good deeds they do. This means that billions of Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Taoists, Shintoists and others will be tortured for eternity by the merciful God. No human being who listens to his own conscience and reason would ever believe in such an evil God. People believe in the religion of their country and parents, if devout “Muslims” were born in China, they too would have been Buddhist now. The same is of course true for the Bible and Christianity, as well as other religions.

The distinction between them, was just in “arrengment ,sequence and ordering” not in “content”. And the reason is clear. The Verses of quran were sent by god at different conditions. ( for example read the “yasin 78 ,79”)

I can also find hundreds of articles that will give you logical arguments but will not waste my time. An “angel” who pretends he is Gabriel , does not have to be an angel.

I have studied Jewish, Christian, and Islamic texts for almost a decade in Shabbat, and whenever else I can. How do you interpret Matt.21:43? Although many of the early Gospels were destroyed (Taitan’s Diatessaron being an established example), and usurped by the Vulgate styled Canon, as well as other earlier replacement theology texts, there remains one early Gospel which points to where Mohammad may have been cited, although not directly by name. The Gospel in question is known only from fragments called Papyrus Egerton 2. The context is the well known confrontation between Yeshua and the Tsadokim strongmen where he is questioned over the tax to Rome. Here is where Yeshua quotes more of Isaiah 29 than any other Gospel portion.

My Muslim friends, you should seriously consider the ramifications of what was presented above. Your eternal fate could very well rest on how humbly you can receive this and whether it will spur you to examine the facts themselves or remain blindly accepting of the Q’uran because your Imam told you to.

The Quran never claimed the bible isn’t the word of god. It WAS back when it wasn’t altered. The reason the Quran exists is because of this. The word of God wasn’t out there anymore.

    • Reni says:

That’s true, you cannot claim the Quran is not the word of God by compare it with the ALTERED VERSION, how many times has the priest changed the bible? You can no longer say that nowadays Bible is words from God cause human have put their words there, leaving only small fraction of the original.

Prophet Jesus was sent to straighten the words of God (Torah) which was altered by the people it was sent to, hence Injil, likewise with Prophet Muhammad and the Quran. Cause the previous nations ALWAYS altered their holy books when their prophet passed away or taken, just to suit their desire.
See the Muslims, wont argue that some of us have distorted mind distorted attitude, some also tried to do the same, altered the Quran. But Allah already promise He Himself will defend it, and He did. That is why Quran is still in its original form when it was revealed more than 1400 years ago. And how can you explain that a 1400 years old book got no error in grammar, or meaning, no mistake at all, if its not from God? Do you think Arabs is that smart?

If you really want to compare, compare it with the real version of Injil, the real version of Torah, and you will see they all ARE words of God, they are all in line, and bring the same messages: The Unity of God.
The difference only lies in some laws cause different nation, different era, has different needs. That is why some which is forbidden for the people of prophet Moses then allowed for the people of prophet Jesus.

Dont even ask if Muhammad is sent by Jesus, Muhammad was sent by God and Jesus is NOT God, they were both prophets, sent by the SAME God who sent Moses, Abraham, Noah.

And the real version of Torah and Injil did foretold the coming of Prophet Muhammad. How else would Bahira the christian monk be able to tell Muhammad’s uncle about Muhammad’s prophethood when Muhammad was still small kid and Quran revelation hasn’t come? cause Injil told him about it.
How else would the jewish in Madinah able to claimed that the next prophet will come from their nation if their holy book did not told them that there will be prophet after Moses? But when the prophet turns out to be from Arab nation and not from their own, the jewish refuse to accept just as how they refuse prophet Jesus.

That just how it is, most human will not accept the truth if it was from people different than himself, especially from people they hate.

If the reason for the writer to write this is to search for the real truth, and not to defend his ego, his opinion, then May Allah send His guidance, and open his eyes, and heart to accept it. And if its not the case, then Allah himself will judge him.
I am not here to defend Quran cause like i say, Allah will do it Himself, I am just here cause I pity the writer, he doesn’t even understand which is the real words of God and which is not, yet he say this claim. Isn’t that sad?

PS: Sorry for the grammar, English is not my 1st language.

Yes Bible did say that a prophet like Moses would come. And Jesus was that prophet. Think about it for a moment. Moses did miracles. Jesus did miracles. Moses spoke directly to God. Jesus spoke directly to God. Moses saved the people from oppression. Jesus saved his people from oppression, oppression of sin. See Jesus claimed to be God. He claimed he was the Messiah. And he rose from the dead to prove it. We can claim he didn’t but that would mean his desciples died for a lie. Why would they say they saw him risen and then die for a lie? There’s also the argument that Jesus said that after him the comforter would come. And the claim that’s Mohammed. John 14:26 says, ” but the comforter which is the holy ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. ” Jesus says right there that the comforter is the holy ghost.

If someone wants to seek true light. He should strive and Allah would show him the path. Religion(s) are for guidance of man to have virtue and success in the life here after. As for trinity concept the quran has very discussed the details of Maryam life and how she miraculusly conceived the prophet Masih and no doubt is left that if Allah can create one human being then He can create another without father. For people who seek guidence Allah says ”
    :
We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur’an) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?”.

How can someone belive that people who killed prophets and tried to kill the prophet Issa left torah unchanged. And last of all torah provided shariah i.e the law and bible needed torah for the law. Whereas the quran is complete in all aspects.
The quran provided the most glorious picture of all prophets, Maryam and every human being. It’s unjustified to compare Qur’an the latest, most comprehensive and authentic book with books whose authenticity can not be proven by any modern standards.

I would suggest if someone seek guidence he should go through Qur’an and if he find the right path, it is in his own benefit.
Prophet Ibrahim searched for guidence and look towards sun, moon and star and finally found true, so all my friend who seek the truth would find it for own benefit.

Science? How can we explain many things in Life that don’t make any scientific senses? Besides, the standards of science has always been in constant changes and contradictions throughout the history. With all respect to my Christian Brothers and sisters, how can a book be words of the God when it says if a woman is raped , she is the one who should be punishable because she didn’t scream while being raped? Or, the daughters of Lut make him drunk and have sex with the father and the results are two boys…… If the God created man from his own image, then can we say the God is handsome or he looks like the old man ( which often times is been depicted)? Leaders of Christianity have not been able to answer these simple questions and instead they fool the followers by attacking other faiths blindly so they can run their Business. Have you thought how many innocent people were burned alive by the commands of churches because they believed on simple facts like the earth may not be flat and so on. Still you believe the Bible is not altered? To clear your mind one last thing from Bible: ” a bastard child is not allowed to enter to a church for ten generations….” . In today’s society, 35-40℅ of children are being born out of marriage and based on Bible’s law they are considered bastards. Then why still they go to church while violating laws of the book? Do you believe an innocent new born human is guilty and bastard while his birth was not his own choice?? And this is the God’s words??

This perception is created by high profile muslim scholars like Zakir Naik if you know him. That is the reason that made me to share those scientific facts above. I have noticed many times that whenever anything gets proved to be wrong in Quran then Muslim people start blaming or calling those facts wrong which they have kept telling right in support of Quran in first place. Now come to your points you mentioned above about bible. First of all if any church anywhere in the world past or present if ever did such a barbaric acts then it have nothing to do with the preaching of Bible. You have to give the references from Bible to support your this argument about burning people. Don’t make statements without any proof or reference from Bible. Please also provide proof from Quran where it has said that Bible or the books sent down before Quran were altered or fabricated. I’m certain that these sort of blames are made by Muslims scholars to brain wash or mislead their Muslim brothers and sisters against Bible to prove Quran authenticity. I have a question for you against your argument about Loot and his daughters. Whom did the sons of Adam and Eve married with when there were no woman from other parents? One more thing never judge any religion by the act of its followers instead you must read the authentic Holy scriptures of that religion with unbiased mind.

Ardesheer, you say that, “how can a book be words of the God when it says if a woman is raped , she is the one who should be punishable because she didn’t scream while being raped?”

The only verses I can find that are similar to what you are describing (and yet totally inaccurate) are the following:

      Deuteronomy 22:23-28
“23 “If a young woman who is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he humbled his neighbor’s wife; so you shall put away the evil from among you.

25 “But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die. 26 But you shall do nothing to the young woman; there is in the young woman no sin deserving of death, for just as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, even so is this matter. 27 For he found her in the countryside, and the betrothed young woman cried out, but there was no one to save her.

28 “If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her; he shall not be permitted to divorce her all his days.

These verses are to protect the women in a male dominated society where women had few rights.

And, you mention Lot and his two daughters. The bible does not condone sin but records it which is an apologetic for it’s truthfulness. Even the great men and women in the bible were sinners, made mistakes and the bible faithfully records them. It also faithfully records a God who is merciful and forgiving when they and we honestly turn from our sins and He forgives based on His Son’s sacrifice.

I have to say that the biggest error a person attempts is to separate religion from science or facts, I am a muslim but I speak generally now.
when people believe in the bible, torah or quran they believe that their words are true, so they believe it is a fact.

why do u assume that science and religion are against one another.
I appologize to my fellow christians but Islam actually preaches people to follow science and better yet seek knowledge where it can be found.
In a nutshell: I am a muslim, I believe that the bible was true but it was corrupted for many reasons, and when quran refers to christ as a muslim it only implies that the Injil is the same source of the bible and from the same god.
Also some people refer to religions as supernatural believes, no it is not, anything can be explained scintifically, everything is bound by the laws of physics, nothing just comes out of nowhere and Islam is here to show us that where the followers of the christian faith failed and some labeled science as infidelity.
just one more note: i think that your efforts to find answers or to discuss religion is admirable but as a muslim I really hope that you don’t read translated s from quran to try to understand it because Quran is not fully understood by anyone and the arabic language is so deep and it is hard to decipher the meaning from simple translation.

Lets us all imagine together. Let’s say that the revelation was sent to Muhammed via Gabrial. And let’s say it really happened. The problem was how Islam became after his death. How the leaders of Islam currupted the history of it all. Telling the world that Islam (the teachings of it) is how Muhammed wanted it to be. His own cousin Ali was fought against during his caliphate by muslim leaders although Ali was the closest human to Muhammed. Why didn’t they let Ali pass the message the way he learned it from his cousin? Why when the planned assasinating of Ali, Maaweya, and Amr, the successful assasination was Ali’s? Maaweya was sick that day and didn’t go for the morning prayers. Whereas Amr, was able to protect himself. To me, this looks like an inside job.
So there must be a lot of things that the muslim nation were fooled about.
It would be great if some muslims stop being ignorant and just read from resources other than islamic resources. Because of course Islamic resources would not show or tell the dark side of Islam.
The Arabs and muslims ruined it all from the beginning and shows that they will never know the truth. If the Islamic control was obtained differently, there would be some light in this world.

Torah which means induction (law according to most translations) from the Biblical perspective is the first five books. Gospel in a Biblical sense consist of the first for amounts of the Christian Scriptures. Tawrat was revealed to Moses. Let’s define Moses first. Moses alayhi salaam is a representation of rules and regulations. Tawrat is not so much stone tablets. Stone tablets are a symbol. Tawrat is actually universal law and order. Jesus (Isa) alayhi salaam is a representation of Scripture. Injeel is actually wisdom. The Quran is confirming Universal Law and Order. The Quran also confirms Wisdom. The Books confirmed are not necessarily physical.

To tell the truth, the Bible is a combination of some components of the Torah, Psalms, Gospel and some collection of people’s tales. Since no prophet received the Bible, am sorry to say, the Bible shouldn’t be a book of reference regarding religious matters.

Everyone looks at life through their own prisms that are based on life experiences and how they were raised.

    so lets find common grounds:

    1. Do we all believe in one God – Most people acknowledge this – the idea of multiple gods does not even pass smell test.

    2. Do we share history – Yes In more ways than one… Adam, Noah, Abraham and many … are all common characters and stories.

    3. So where do we differ… Minor but important

Judaism – God’s main want is obedience and is very focused on the affairs of Jews. Rules of the game are revealed in Torah for obedience.

Christianity – As a climax to the mankind, God appeared in flesh. He is big on faith and he sacrificed himself for people of faith. Bible describes history and demands faith in lieu of eternal salvation

Islam – God sent Muhammad (phuh) after Jesus (phuh) and he is just another messenger like thousands who have come before but he is the last one and comes with the final set of rules for the mankind

These minor differences are not trivial though. What is at stake is the whole eternal life which is infinitely longer than this one – so it is the most critical decision on one’s life.

Jewish philosophy would make sense for Jews but its too intrinsic – there are 7 billion people is world and Jewish % is very low.

Christianity I feel lacks accountability across times considering we are at the fag end of long human civilization – and why god had to appear in flesh only now? and why to reduce Gods omnipotence to human stature? and why one ones then? and what about human deeds? – faith cannot be enough.

Islamic view is the most balanced and places everyone equal across all times. Gods want submission to his will. Rules have changed for the game of life as humans have socially, culturally and mentally evolved – and you got to put up with the latest rules in Quran – as simple as that.

As humans further evolve socially, culturally and mentally why did God not send another Prophet? Because we are approaching the end of times – communication and connectivity has become widespread. The need is to control the message and Jesus (phuh) will come back to affirm the Islamic message which some Christians believe will the second coming of Jesus for Christianity – you can believe what you want but I am firmly with Islam.

Samar Qureshi’s note is excellent. But coming to the point: Is Quran Word of God? Recalling premises given by the author of this blog:
    1. Considering premises 1, Yes Indeed Original Bible was word of God. But the present books which we find with Christians are corrupted ones. That’s why there are a lot of versions. Some Christian researchers agree that bible is not word of God. Just google “Why Bible is not word of God”.
    2. If you feel that Quran contradicts Bible, there are two reasons: Some rules laid down by Bible were for that specific period, while Quran is for mankind till the end of Times. A rule set by Bible may be changed by Quran just like a number of rules set by Old Testament were changed by New Testament. The second reason is that Bible in hands of Christians today is corrupted and altered. Therefore it seems that Quran contradicts Bible. For example God had not said that Jesus was His son in original Bible, nor there was any indication of Trinity theory.
    3. Quran in many places said that Books revealed to them (Christians and Jews) were words of God. But Quran also warns that they were corrupted by human hands, and attributed their own words to God. This is true, when we see many versions of Bible with different authors each claiming that to be word of God.

After studying Trinity theory, one can agree that Christians are not monotheists at all.
In fact those premises fail to conclude that Quran is not word of God.

There have been a lot of discussion about the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and The Quran being the word of Allah (God). I would like to say just couple of things:

    1. Islam (Quran and Muhammad) confirms that Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) (Torah) and Jesus (peace be upon him) (Injil-Bible) were The righteous people and those who followed them absolutely as they guided them.

    2. Jews interpreted the Torah and twisted the meanings as suited them. The God through his utmost mercy sent the Jesus (peace be upon him) who corrected the belief and showed the right picture.

    3. Followers of Musa (Jews) did not accept Jesus (peace be upon him) and said things they must have not said. They tortured and persecuted those who followed Jesus (peace be upon him). This resulted long on-going battle between Christians and Jews until second world war

    4. Followers of Jesus (peace be upon him) did the same as Jews. Deviated from the actual teachings of the Jesus and his guided apostles. Churches and priest interpreted the bible to suit them and their interests.

    5. Again Allah (God) through his utmost mercy to the mankind revealed Quran to Muhammad (peace be upon him). Through the Quran Allah removed the misconceptions/ changes in the previous revelations that happened over the course of time.

    6. Followers of Muhammad (peace be upon him) are no different then the previous two groups. Soon after Muhammad (peace be upon him) people of Quran divided into sects simply due the different interpretations of the Quran. There have been several fighting’s among the Muslims and even happening now.

We, children of Adam, have the same nature that is to look after and fight for our own interests as an individual, family, groups, tribes and nations. we kill each other in the name of religion, tribalism, nationalism but the aim is simply to gain and protect our worldly benefits. I will simply request to all the groups do your sincere search for the truth without any bias and with the pure intention that you will follow the truth come what may you will be guided. Task is easy for us as we (Jews, Christians and Muslims) believe in God. Pray to your own God with utmost sincerity and ask for guidance> He will guide you.

I read the bible and it increased my belief in Islam ( as revealed to Muhammad – peace be upon him) necessarily not what Muslims follow today. I have no shame to accept that true Islam is only in the books and may few and far Muslim individuals life. A detailed article and a good attempt from the writer to express their opinion. In order to establish whether the Quran is the word of God or not, we have to understand the Quran in its true spirit and the time in which it was revealed. It is not at all a valid point to reject the Quran being the word of God that bible is the word of God and the two books can’t be from the same God. Bible was revealed to the prophet Christ and it was for that period and the commandments were also according to those circumstances. The Quran clearly says that Bible, Torah & Injil are all books of Allah. When the Quran was revealed, it nullifies all the previous books and the teachings contained in them since the Quran was declared the last and authentic book from Allah. Furthermore, the Quran predicted thousands of scientific miracles more than 1400 years ago which recently proved true. A number of other valid reasons can be presented to prove that the Quran is the actual word of God.

The Quran says the Bible is true, but the Bible says it is the only truth. That alone right there causes some problems. It takes a lot of work to try and harmonize the Quran and the Bible.

I always thought this Bible passage settled everything and there will be no more Bible updates until the second coming. If you accept the Bible as the Word of God then why is there a need to prove anything with an argument? Just accept God’s testimony through His prophets as final.

Galatians 1:6-8New King James Version (NKJV)

    Only One Gospel
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

Apparently the Bible got corrupted, despite it being from Allah. Which you would think would mean that he could protect his own word but I guess even Allah has limits.

The Bible is the Word of God that is why everyone attacks it so vehemently.

There is a synagogue of Satan in this world and it attempts to corrupt and control the Bible in all sorts of various ways. That’s one way you can spot it as authentic.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. What do imitators try to copy and steal authority from? Why from originals, of course.

Wouldn’t everyone like to be God’s favorite?

Still God has His ways so you will have to read and refer to the Bible like everyone else if you want to learn God’s ways and look out for all of the false prophets.

There are more false prophets in some churches and other cults and religions today than there are real prophets.

You can spot a real prophet because he will usually be the one getting stoned by the world. He won’t be stoning any person in the world. Just their lies, false reasoning and arguments.

God is love. So isn’t that a statement about God’s state of being?

Love is the fulfillment of the law.

So inspect the major religions to see who fulfills God’s law the best.

There are a lot of pretenders to the throne but God is love so who is the most like God?

The Bible is given to man from God like a child is given to a man.

It is up to God’s men to protect the Bible the same way a father would protect his baby.

Christians are the children of God. Adopted into God’s very own family. Just because the rest of the world challenges that fact doesn’t change God’s testimony on it.

Jesus Christ was the most important person ever born because He was the Son of God and the Son of Man.

God incarnate. The Word of God in human flesh.

And Jesus Christ brings the gift of spiritual birth to everyone who loves him, believes in him and receives him with joy and thankfulness.

No mere prophet brings spiritual birth through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

It is only Christ’s gift to give.

Besides what prophet ever corrected God and got away with it? God corrected Jonah, Moses, David, Abraham, etc.

God corrects everyone and if you are blessed you will allow Him to correct you in this life.

Every person that doesn’t accept Jesus in this life will be judged by him in the afterlife.

But isn’t it better to be accepted by Jesus now in this life? While you can still be legally adopted by God? Then submit to the tutoring and leading of the Spirit of God.

That is my favorite doctrine: adoptiion.

Every man, woman and child ever born is a spiritual orphan without Jesus but under the Law of Redemption God sent Jesus into the world to adopt everyone that will trust him for their salvation.

It is hard to get the truth of God’s intentions without a good Bible education so I am just breaking down God’s Word for you.

Pray on it and ask God for guidance.

    Greetings and welcome Muslim friends!
I was reading through the comments and my heart just broke seeing people being mistreated. I’m a Christian and I’m sorry if you didn’t didn’t feel loved on and welcome.
A lot of times we forget we can disagree and be kind and respectful to others we don’t know. To my Christian brothers and sisters, please remember to be kind and gentle. Even if you’re not treated the same way. There’s a human being God created on the other side of that keyboard. Just as you may have had times of trouble, pain, and heart ache so have they. Muslims are people of faith, although different beliefs I have been fortunate to have some great Muslim friends. One of my neighbors who is Muslim has two beautiful kids that have often baked cookies and brought them over to my wife and I. We love those kids and that family. If they needed anything we would help them in a heartbeat. Whether your Muslim, Jewish, Christian, etc. Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves Christians.

Would love to have an intelligent, yet polite discussion with my Muslim friends here, I’m interested to hear more about your beliefs and how they differ or relate to us. As Christians we believe the Bible to be truth just as you believe in the Koran to be truth. The Bible is the sum of the Old Testament and the New Testament which are a collection of several other books. While we don’t have the original pieces, we do have several copies or second hand accounts that have been found throughout history. Per Secular historians (non Christians), these second hand accounts qualify as historical proof. I’ve read that we have better historical evidence for the Bible than we do Alexander the Great who we have no mention for 400 years later.

In the Old Testament we see God creates man. God sees man should be not alone and He creates woman out of man rib. Man is not greater than woman, they each have their strengths and weaknesses. The Bible notes, woman again was a part of man. From there man ends up rebelling and sinning, going against God’s laws and plan. Throughout the Bible the constant theme I see is man keeps rebelling against God’s will and laws. Although man keeps sinning, God keeps pursuing a relationship with them. God has characteristics of a father. He knows we’re going to make mistakes and in our case sin, yet He still loves us. He loves us so much that He correct us. Sometimes correction requires punishment to move and change our hearts. In the Old Testament the Israelites would need to offer burnt offerings or sacrifice a lamb to atone for their sins . Fast forward and in books of the Bible there are several prophets that speak about someone that is going to save humanity. There are several verses in books that describe Jesus hundreds of years before He comes. God sends Jesus, His only son to be the savior of the world. Now as Christians we believe in one God, but believe in the trinity. God the father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. All are God and God is 1, not 3 separate Gods. The best analogy I can think of is a company, for example Apple computers is a company but has different people working for Apple in different departments. You’re still Apple computers at the end of the day whether you work in sales or I.T. . Jesus is God and came to earth in human form to be mans savior. He is sinless, all powerful, and loving. The New Testament is beautiful, even if you don’t believe it. What Jesus taught can be valuable and applicable to any person. The Bible is filled with a lot of people with a lot of problems. A lot of the same ones we have today. Lust, greed, adulterer, pride, etc.. you name it, its there. What I love about Jesus is all the disciples He chooses are ordinary men. Some are fishermen while others were tax collectors(even in those times people didn’t like taxes, collectors were really not liked!), and others outcasts. God chose the most unlikely cast aside people to be His disciples (right hand men). These men followed Jesus and throughout the Bible we see them make mistakes and you see there hearts begin to transform by walking with Jesus. Not only is Jesus described as being fatherly, but He is relational. He pursues relationship with man even when man rebels, He still loves you. No matter how bad you think you messed up, God still loves you. God says even the rain falls on the righteous and the wicked. He loves everyone. Throughout the New Testament, the religious leaders of that time were always trying to trick Jesus and trap Him. One story that sticks out is there were several religious leaders getting ready to stone a woman who committed adulterey. Jesus shows up and he says, whoever hasn’t sinned be the first to cast a stone. Rumor has it, Jesus kneeled and wrote the sins of each person in the sand/dirt. Jesus repeatedly shows love and what we call Grace. It is not acceptance of sin, but a gift from God. If you remember I mentioned earlier there had to be sacrifice and there were consequences for sin. Jesus is called the lamb of God and our savior because He took on all of the sins of man and he was innocent. Jesus let Himself be crucified and was brutally tortured and killed for our sins. The Old Testament system of sacrificing and offering was no longer necessary because Jesus took on the punishment of all of humanity. The reason He is called the lamb of God. 3 days later Jesus rises, he conquers death and gives us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit equips up to guide us in this life. God is a God of grace, love, relationships, mercy, compassion, strength, and righteousness. In the last book of the Bible, it mentions Jesus will come back for His people during times and tribulations and the great deceiver who rules this earth now will be cast out. All will be restored. 🙂 Now you don’t have to agree with anything I said at all, but it’s what I believe to be truth. I’m not going to try to convince anyone , only God can stir and change the heart of someone if He is trying to reveal something. It’s all love here whether you agree or disagree.

From my understanding the Koran has some
similarities. Muslims believe the Bible was altered (don’t worry I’m not offended at anyone’s beliefs my friends). My question for my Muslim friends which book of the Bible or was it all of it that was believed to be altered? What do you think the motivation was by man to alter it then? The way I see it if it was changed shouldn’t the people be made to seem more perfect in it and not have so many problems?

Look forward to discussing and learning more about your thoughts! May God Bless you!!

Christians feel free to add or correct me if I misspoke or misquoted something 🙂 . God please forgive me if I said anything that offends you and let it fall to the ground.

If anyone wants to have a private discussion or has questions I’m happy to answer them. Feel free to post and we can figure out how to connect!

Saints and sciences, which are the fruits of the Quran

Saints and sciences, which are the fruits of the Quran, prove that the Quran is the word of Allah.

If we liken the Quran to a tree, the branches represent the centuries, and the fruits and flowers represent the saints and the great scholars that lived in that century.

If a tree has fruits and flowers, we know that it is alive. Nobody can claim that a tree that has thousands of fruits and flowers is dead. For, when such a claim is uttered, each fruit and flower will say, “Look at us; our life comes from the life of the tree. We feed on the roots of our tree; then, our tree is alive.” Therefore, in order to deny the life of the tree, it is necessary to deny the life of the fruits and to refute their statement. A person who cannot deny the life of the fruit and the flower cannot deny the life of the tree, either.

Similarly, a person who cannot deny the saints and scholars, who are the fruits of the tree of the Quran, cannot deny the Quran, which is the tree of those fruits, either.

Therefore, if we utter the following sentence, it is true: “The Quran is the word of Allah because Abdulqadir Ghaylani has so much perfection that the non-Muslims who lived in the same age as him said, ‘We do not accept Islam but we cannot deny Abdulqadir.'”

That is, we can use the perfection of Abdulqadir Ghaylani as evidence that the Quran is the true word of Allah. For, he is a student of the Quran
The perfection and karamahs in him originated from the root of the Quran. If it were not the word of Allah – God forbid – the fruits in this tree would not appear. Since they appear, the Quran is definitely the word of Allah.

Then, all of the saints and great scholars that lived during the last fourteen centuries prove that the Quran is the book of Allah with their karamahs, knowledge, nice attributes and lifestyles that show the truth.

A person who cannot deny them all cannot deny the Quran, which is their luminous tree.

They cannot deny even one of them, Abdulqadir Ghaylani; how can they deny all of them?

All of the true sciences of Islam prove that the Quran is the word of Allah.

If we liken the Quran to a tree again, true sciences of Islam like fiqh, fiqh method, tafsir, kalam, aqaid and tasawwuf are the fruits of that tree.

Can we doubt the life of a tree that has so many true fruits on its branches?

In order to deny the life of a tree, it is necessary to deny its fruits, which are the signs of its life, first; a person who cannot deny the fruits cannot deny the tree, either.

Similarly, in order to be able to criticize the Quran and to deny the life of this luminous tree, it is necessary to deny the true sciences of Islam, which are like its fruits.

It is impossible because each science is based on sound rules, mental evidence and logical rules. It takes years to learn only one of those sciences. Only genius people can be experts in one or two of them.

Is it at all possible that the Quran, whose fruits are true sciences like that, can be the work of an illiterate person and all of those true sciences originate from it? It is impossible. Then, with the witnessing of these sciences, which are the fruits of the Quran, the Quran is the word and holy book of Allah.

I will admit I have not read through the 100 replies, but every reply l have read from a Muslim has avoided the authors conclusion….”To conclude, the argument developed above represents a formidable challenge to the Islamic religion, and I challenge any Muslim to show me where I have erred. In order to maintain his Islamic faith, a Muslim must reject one or more of the Premises of the syllogism given at the start of this article. If he cannot do so, the conclusion follows necessarily and inescapably.”

In other words, all Muslim replies are just red herrings. If I’m wrong and there are relevant replies I haven’t seen yet, please repost them in reply here.

Thanks, and God bless you as you seek the truth.

shalom —quran and torah injeel (holy bible ) are all truth
because the small mind canot piece together in one fabric—is no error of the revealtions given
    but rather of the individual
for only the living god th e one true god can guide and teach this truth
inshaAllah –as god wills so it shall be …
so seek war and seek discordance –seek the falling of ur own soul..
for the WORD of god is the deciding factor
obedience to the WORD of god = blessing /life/good
disobedience to WORD of god = curse/death/evil
it has always been this from the beginning
obedience to the WORD of god
see adversity if u will…yet shalom exists for those that seek shalom

To think anyone would think the Qu’ran replaced the Bible or that the Bible ceased to be the Word of God because some translators mistranslated some words is simply incredible to me.

God and His Word is never invalidated by the errors of men.

Also according to Muslims you aren’t even suppose to read the Qu’ran unless you can read Arabic.

So if the world can’t read it how can it heed it?

Also why suggest such an earthly limitation to Arabic comes from God? Doesn’t He know how to interpret all languages when people pray to Him?
