The 4-I’s – LIVE Online Course

What every Shepherd needs to know about Immigration, Israel, Islam, and Identity…

How do you respond when someone in your church asks about immigration, Islam, or whether Christians are obligated to stand with Israel? What do you say when a family comes to you confused about sexuality and transgenderism—or when a teenager in your youth group is being shaped more by the culture than by Scripture?

If you’re like many pastors, you feel the weight of those moments, and the last thing you want to do is stay quiet. As a pastor, you are on the front lines, and your families are hearing voices from the culture that are leaving them confused and more divided than ever.

In this 4-part LIVE course, Pastor Lucas Miles, Dr. Frank Turek, and Pastor Jason Jimenez will walk with you through four of the most controversial and consequential issues the church faces today —Immigration, Identity, Israel, and Islam. Together, we’ll move you from hesitation to clarity, from avoidance to engagement, and from uncertainty to the courageous, Christlike conviction your church family is hungry for.

You don’t have to have all the answers. But you do need the right approach—and the confidence to use it. That’s exactly what this online course is designed to give you!

Course Outline

• Why are you called “phobic” if you offer any critique of Islam or immoral sexual practices?
• Why do LGBTQ advocates side with Hamas, an organization that literally murders people who identify as LGBTQ?
• Why are some Christians and politicians for open borders and allowing violent criminals to go free?
• Why do some judge that entire groups of people are guilty by the behavior of a few? This is even being done by Christians!
• Why is there such confusion biblically and politically over the state of Israel?

There is one vain secular philosophy (Col 2:8) that will be exposed in this course that answers those questions. Once we expose and understand that philosophy in this course, you will then be able to correct the unbiblical thinking and practices that come from it. This philosophy affects the 4-I’s we will address:

Session 1: Is "Love Your Neighbor" Being Misapplied to Immigration?

Balancing Compassion, Justice, and Biblical Truth

Immigration is one of the most complex and emotionally charged issues in today’s society. Christians often struggle to balance compassion for people with concerns about law, order, and national security. In this session, you’ll learn how to address immigration with both biblical compassion and moral clarity.

Key Takeaways:

• Why immigration is both a political and spiritual issue
• What Scripture teaches about caring for foreigners and upholding justice
• The importance of national borders and the rule of law
• How to avoid emotional extremes and think biblically
• A balanced approach: secure borders + genuine compassion

Session 2: Is Christian Support for Israel Biblical, Political, or Both?

Understanding God’s Covenantal, Historical, and Prophetic Relationship with Israel

Few issues stir more debate in the church than Israel. Some see Christian support for Israel as purely political, while others ground it entirely in religious sentiment. But the full story of Israel is far richer—and far more significant than Americans know. In this session, we’ll trace the biblical, historical, and covenantal relationship between God and Israel from the promises made to Abraham all the way to the prophetic fulfillments unfolding in our lifetime. You’ll also explore the promises yet to be fulfilled and why Israel’s story is inseparable from the gospel itself.

Key Takeaways:

• The biblical and covenantal foundation for God’s relationship with Israel
• Israel’s unique and irreplaceable role in God’s redemptive plan for the world
• Why Israel remains a critical democratic ally in the Middle East and its global significance
• How prophecy has been fulfilled in the modern State of Israel—and what still lies ahead
• The existential threats posed by Hamas and Islamists to Israel’s survival

Session 3: What’s the Difference Between Islam and Islamism--and Why Does it Matter for the Church?

Loving Muslims, and Responding with Truth, not Fear

Islam is a growing religion in America, and many of your church members have Muslim neighbors or coworkers. Most Muslims are seeking the same things most families want: opportunity, safety, and a brighter future for their families. However, we are seeing a rise in Islamism, which is something far more dangerous. It is a political ideology that poses a direct threat to the freedoms and values that define American life—and every pastor needs to understand why.

In this session, you’ll learn to make a clear distinction between devout Muslims and radical Islamists. You’ll also be equipped to respond when accusations like “Islamophobia” are used to silence honest conversation, and be more proactive in reaching Muslims with the gospel of Jesus!

Key Takeaways:

• Discover the core beliefs of Islam and how they differ from Christianity
• Learn the distinction between peaceful Muslims and radical Islamist ideologies
• Apply practical ways to share the gospel in Muslim communities including the Islamic Dilemma

Session 4: What is Queer Theology--and Why Is It Gaining Ground in the Church?

Restoring Biblical Clarity on Sexuality and Identity

As more people identify as LGBTQ+, new theological frameworks—often called “queer theology”—are gaining influence, even within churches that once held fast to biblical doctrine. This growing progressive theology claims that God made people’s sexuality fluid, that Jesus advocated for same-sex relationships, and that identity should be understood apart from biblical design.

In this session, we will examine these claims head-on, providing you with biblical and reasonable answers to the many LGBT+-affirming interpretations of Scripture without compromising truth or losing your pastoral heart.

Key Takeaways:

• Understand what queer theology teaches and why it appeals to this generation
• Properly respond to progressive interpretations of Scripture that attempt to affirm LGBT+ identities
• 3 reasons why “following your heart” is an unbiblical and disastrous idea
• Equip families and students to develop a biblical view of identity and sexuality
• Identity is not achieved, it is received
