Parallel Host and Parasite Phylogenies: Do They Imply Common Ancestry?

One line of evidence for common ancestry, which lies among the stronger of the relevant arguments, is the phenomenon of parallel phylogenetic patterns thought to indicate host-parasite codivergence.
